Amp Overcurrent
I have a 1200 watt sony exlode class d amp with 2 12" kenwoods in a sealed box. I have an 8 gauge wire from the battery to the amp and a 8 gauge ground. I have 12 guage wires for the subs.
When I first hooked up the system the my system just wanged but then 3 hours later with frequency almost all the way down and the bassboost and power to half the amp overcurrent light is on. THe thing is, when I start my car the amp will work but when I turn up the volume it just simply cuts out. What could it be? |

Re: Amp Overcurrent
sounds like your subs are wired to a final impedance that's too low for the amp to handle

Re: Amp Overcurrent
would you care to elaborate? How do I fix this?

Re: Amp Overcurrent
well first we need more info on the impedance of each sub (dual 2ohm, single 4ohm, dual 4ohm, etc) and what specific amp you have
