If you have the $ and know how to do it, anything is possible. But unless you want to spend the $, cut your car up, and probably never have it run completely right; jsut stick with the honda family of motors. And seeing as how you have to ask then don't even think about doing it. I've heard of all sorts of motors going into civics but it's just not practical.

Re: Can i swap a Nissan Sr20det motor into a 1995 honda civic?

i have always wondered about putting a non honda motor into a civic. it would be about the only thing you could do that would give you a somewhat unique Civic that can't be found on every street corner. but civicspoon is right, although it is possible it would take huge amounts of work to get it done right. just things as simple as getting correct length half shafts would be a serious pain in the ass. and thats not to mention the problems with the wiring and engine mounts. i personally would love to see some creative and well done swaps like you have mentioned but i simply cant even begin to think of affording the work it would require

Bad idea. Call the shops and ask them if they've done anything like that before (japanese rwd on a fwd chassy). Telling them "i got money if they wanna try something crazy" you're probably going to get ripped off and have a worthless POS paperweight in your driveway. Just because someone owns or works at a shop doesn't mean they have the skills of knowledge of how to do something that crazy.

Yeah thats pretty stupid if you ask me...Better drop in a Honda engine b16, b18 or something and then turbo or supercharge it, you will be very fast and reliable.

Here are the specs:
Cars: JDM Red-Top 91-93 Silvia,91-93 180SX

1998cc (DOHC 16V Chain-driven)

Horsepower: 205hp@6000rpm

Torque: 203lbs-ft@4000rpm

Compression: 8.5:1

Bore: 86mm

Stroke: 86mm

How nice would it be to have a Civic with over 200 lbs-ft of torque from the factory?

sr20 in a civic has been done before. I think it was in a thai or viet magazine. I don't know if it was a FWD sr20de that was boosted or a RWD sr20det, but either way it's been done

You can swap any motor if you have the money.

I've seen a 350 Ford block in a CRX.
