transmission upgrades and improvements

My 96 JGC Larado has a 44RE transmission behind the 5.2 V8.

The 2-3 shift is eratic especially when cold. Quite annoying actually and I don't want it to get worse this winter so I am going to pull it and go through the clutches and clutch seals.

Do any of you have any information on parts compatibility and changeups to make this a more bullet proof transmission. ya I know it is a chrysler and jeep to boot, but I'd like to give it some of the old torqueflite benifits if there was any to be had.

it is a torque-flight!!! they just screwed it up with that 40 Lbs of iron
behind it called over-drive!!!! You can get Hi-Energy clutches for this thing,,,,also koline steels,,,,,may want to get a SUPERIOR brand
control {SHIFT} kit ....It can use all the help it can get with the
OD unit and the transfercase hanging on the back!!!

I'm not sure where to get the parts you suggested here in Canada but I'll enquire around.

How about the hard parts- planetaries, shafts etc anything there to improve by change up????

And will the deep 727 pans fit the 44re.
