01 tahoe with 03 xm head unit??

Hello, Some of my friends have the newer stereo with xm radio in it. Would it be possible to buy a newer xm radio tuner that come in the newer 03 -04 trucks and put it into a 01 and enjoy xm and onstar together?

I really like the delco stereo head units and dont want to put an aftermarket unit in. If possible will it hook up into the onstar antenna for xm to work or will it need a seperate antenna?

thanks,
ryan

NO They Changed the Pulgs on the head unit my Dad has a 2004 Z71 Tahoe it has the Xm AND On Star But if you can find an older model Chevy Truck or suv with the CD Or tape Player serparte you will also need the wire that goed from the Xm Tuner to the Head unit in a 2003-2004 Model But you can make it work i love it i got to keep my factory Radio but about the On-star i dunno if you just have Two things in the back of the head unit the main harness and the Ant then the on star is ran throught the factory amp so it will still work if not than you wont need the older model harness just suplice it in to the on star if you need help just email me at [email protected]
