Connecting Xbox to the tv

Ok so like I just stole my brothers Xbox but I can't figure out how to connect it to the tv and I'm sure theres a geek here who can help me I can get the audio to work but no picture, and the yellow video line plug isn't the right one to fit in the 'video in' 'video out' plug holes. Somehow it works cause my brother did it last week. SOMEONE HELP ME

Re: Connecting Xbox to the tv

Yup. I figured it out. The yellow cord had to be connected to the vcr even though someone I asked said it all got plugged into the tv not the vcr. Last time I take advice from someone from England.

Re: Connecting Xbox to the tv

Actuallly it could plug straight into the TV ( depending on your TV).

Red = Right Audio Channel ( sound)
White = Left Audio Channel ( sound )
Yellow = Video ( err, video )

You could also have an S-Video ( round black with a bunch of pins, quite superior quality).

As stated before, you have to make sure that the TV is on the proper channel ( some its on the remote Video Input ) or you have to turn the TV to say channel 00. It will come up with a Video signal on your TV.
Going through the VCR is just as easy though.
By the way, do you have the TV/VCR going through any sort of sound system or are you just using the TV speakers?
You can get wicked sound if you run it through your system...

Re: Connecting Xbox to the tv

TV Speakers. Our tv is old school from like early 80's. It only had 2 plugs that the connections would fit in, the other had to go through the vcr.

i had to buy a vcr when i had that exact problem. A vcr should be an easy fix, and there not that expensive. On a side note i just bought a 36 inch rca tv and it actually says in little green letters on the lower right of the front of the tv "XBOX Ready" its cool, it has a vport in the back just for xbox!!!!!!
