1993 camry overheating

I have replaced the radiator but am still overheating. Problem is only when car is not moving, thus no air through the grill. Fan is working.

If it overheats, usually when the AC is running. Once the car is moving again, the temperature comes down quickly to normal range.

Check your coolant level in your radiator when the engine is cold. Check your radiator for bent cooling fins.

coolant level looks good, the radiator is brand new. Cooling fins seem to also be OK.

Are you missing the shroud around the fan? Check the amperage draw of the fan.

i had the same problem before, take out your thermosat and then try it, its usally just gets stuck closed for some reason, you really dont need it in the summer anyways and with out it the coolint will just keep going round and round, you may wanna put it back on in the winter, but then again i never did.
PS. make sure the car is cold when you do this, very easy to do it's only two #10 bolts.

I don't think it's a good idea to remove the thermostat and leave it out at any time. Replace it if it is bad, but don't leave it out. You have to have a stable engine coolant temperature to keep your transmission shifting predictably since the shift points are coolant-temperature dependant.

Dito on leaving the thermostat in... Get a OEM part from Toyota.... You may have air trapped in the head, park the Camry on a steep incline & allow it to run to purge all air out.... Honda has a bleed value on the thermostat housing for this purpose... Keep us posted... Bob

Do you have 3 coolant fans? On my camry I have to have 3 electric fans under the hood when my AC runs. 1 of the fans is on the engine side of the radiator, the other 2 are in front of the radiator and the air conditioning radiator,and I have noticed that these 2 fans are high speed fans but only engage intermittantly and when the AC is on.
