A/C Not Cold Enough

Do the A/C systems in the 2000 / 2001 Camry's work well for you guys? I just bought a used 2001 v6 with 50,000 miles that was cared for. The vent temperature just does not get under 50 degrees at the dash vents.. and more like 60 or higher when it is very hot and humid. I would think mid 40's on a hot day is good, not 60 or 70 degrees. I have not hooked my gauges up to check the pressure, but I suspect that it is not low.. not cutting on and off, just trying to get some feedback on the newer Camry A/C and how well do they work?? Thanks
