Does Anyone out there know how to reset the check engine light??

Easiest way is to disconnect the battery cables for 1/2 hour or so, but keep in mind that the engine needs to relearn everything when you start it back up. Just let it run for 10 minutes at idle before driving anywhere. You probably want to read the specific error codes before doing this so you have an idea of what triggered the light.

I've got several ways to read the codes. On my 97 it has a diagnostic screw that you turn to flash the codes on the dash, then those codes get translated into the actual P-codes. I've also got an Actron scanner that can read and clear the codes via the OBDII port. But you can also go to Autozone to get them read for free if you are in the US and outside of California.
To diagnose the codes I use my subscription to www.alldata.com. It gives you the manufacturer diagnostic charts for each code. Only $24.95 first year, $14.95 after that.
