glossy finish procedure

hallo all, i am very new to modelling and have decided to build a black model. (the car basic colour is black). i was informed that in order to make it look metallic i need a glossy finish so i purchased gunze sangyo topcoat (gloss) but bubbling results thus i went back to my hobby shop and was told i need sandpaper and polishing compound. i bought thus 2000grit tamiya sandpaper and tamiya compound finish and was told to sand away the bubble scars and polish it with the compound finish

while the part did indeed look impressive immediately after polishing, the shine fades to a dull colour after say 5 minutes, did i do anything wrong?

steps i took : spray a single coat all round Part A
spray a single BLAST on TOP of Part B (both parts are
identical

2) letting A dry for 24 hrs before doing the above wet sanding etc.
3) polishing with the compund

Part A is the one with the bubbling problems, part B however is perfect (top only) as the blast didnt cover the sides and leaves residue on the sides of the parts that again look like bubbling. i didnt apply any paint at all as the car was originally black. do help out here, as i do not want to spoilt the kit

The bubbleing must be caused by the fact that you sprayed too close and applied too much paint at a time. Maintain at least 20-30cm, or spray across the object very very quickly (one push across the object in just about 1 second) to avoid this problem.

Also, wait longer than 24 hours before polishing. I even wait for a week, until the solvent is completely dry. What happens is that when you sand, you reveal a fresh surface, which may not be rock-solid. Polishing is less effective on a soft surface, resulting in dull surface.

thanks kasso and hirofkd and kasso i did read the faq but i didnt see several of the topics esp the enzo ferrari thread, thanks and i will try again. however i am still trying without a base paint or primer of anysort, is it possible to get the same shine as the enzo? i am just using the topcoat and compound..once again thanks!

You might wanna strip the body of the paint and start over using primer.
