Hey All,
I want to put in an auxiliary battery to maximize my tailgating opportunities (playing the radio, pluggin in a TV, stuff like that) without running down the primary battery...Any creative ideas out there where to put an auxiliary battery in a ZJ? I can't see an easy place in the engine compartment. Maybe there's somewhere under the chassis? Or above the wheel wells inside the cargo area? TIA (thanks in advance) for the thoughts!!

Re: Best auxiliary battery location?
if you have the inside spare mount, there is some room between it and the back seat. A custom battery box with a vent for the gas and containment for any spill in a lead acid battery.
A "gel" battery would get around the spill problem There might be enough room inside theframe back of the transfer case. a drive shaft safety loop might be a good idea for that location though. JD |
