2004 JGTC Celica in planning
I'm thinking of embarking on a project to build the JGTC 2004 Wedsport Celica now, using the Tamiya street celica as a base.
Needless to say, there's tons of changes, and I don't quite know how to change the chassis. However, I plan to start with the main body first. Can anyone highlight the changes I'll need to make to the street version? First of all, the wheel arches have been raised to even higher than the window level, and the front headlamps are now recessed in this raised wheel arch area, rather than flush with the body. The rear has a diffuser and the rear bumper height has reduced by half from the street version. Fuel filler is closer to the door now. I don't really see any length differences. Are there any other changes I've missed? http://www.jgtc.net/race/gallery/gal...gallery1.shtm# http://www.jgtc.net/race/gallery/gal...gallery1.shtm#

Okay, to show what I'm talking about, here's a very simple sketch.

Re: 2004 JGTC Celica in planning
Looks like a great project-
the fender flares go all the way back to the doors on the front of the car- from the top of the fender it drops almost straight down to the side skirts- and the exhaust exits at that point on the left side of the car; ![]()

Thanks for the help.
Does anyone know the exact kind of rim and tyre used on the Wedsport Celica? Are they 18"s?

That's a great profile pic. Where did you find it? Do they have a front view?

Re: 2004 JGTC Celica in planning
The wheels are 18" Weds Sports TC-005. Fujimi makes a street set in 17"- you could add a lip and a Sakatsu set of center lock nuts.

Re: 2004 JGTC Celica in planning
Tires are Yokohama Advan's- use any slick tires from a Tamiya NSX or Supra- just change the stenciling...
