New Ride

What's up guys. Just thought I would share some pics of my new ride. I had thought about trading the Max in for a G35, but decided to just pick up a summer cruiser instead. It's a '74 with a 350, true dual exhaust, 4 speed, t-tops, and waiting for a whole lot of restoration. Tell me what you think!

Re: New Ride

So far, I plan to paint in midnight blue metallic, replace the entire interior, and put in a new ZZ4 350 when I have the funds. That'll be a while though, damn college and Maxima payments.

Boy, talk a about a flashback. This was a prime girly-gettin' ride back in the day. Of course that all you take with you.
"Can a brotha get a ride?"
"Only got room for my woman! I can drop you at bus stop on the way out."

Watch the T-tops. Those jokers used to leak like they weren't even there. If plan to redo the interior, replace the rubber seal.

Yeah, the molding on the windshield and t-tops needs to be replaced badly, the interior pretty much needs to be ripped out and redone completely. But boy, it really rips in the upper 2 gears, tons of torque everywhere.

I don't think the girlfriend would appreciate girly-getting a whole lot, but hey, I'm still young.

Nice ride man, here's my dad's (which will be mine someday). It's a '72 also with a 350 in it. The color is Steel Cities Grey...I believe they only made 1800 in this color.

Re: New Ride

That '72 is pretty nice. I wish I could have gotten a couple years earlier, '69 and '70 were about the best Vettes ever, with a 400+ HP 454. But I got a great deal on mine, too good to pass up. What kind of restoration has your dad done on that baby?

No restoration has been done to my dad's vette. It was one or two levels below showroom condition when he bought it. Everything is original...and it had about 80,000 miles on it when he bought it for his 40th bday 4 years back. In my opinion '67s were the nicest vettes...they also had the 454 in it, and made between 400 and 450hp. I know '71s also had more power than the '72s because that was when we had the oil crisis and all. My dad owned a '71 also in steel cities grey when he was 17 but he lent it to his friend who wrapped it around a tree, so for his 40th bday he wanted to get the exact (or almost exact) car that he had as a teen, which he did. Pretty nice gift to himself if you ask me!

Re: New Ride

Nice congrats on the new car, and good luck with it. My favorite American car the Vette. Again good luck.
