my car doesnt have vtec and ive seen kits on ebay that will supposedly convert it, they dont seem to have much except for a few gaskets and hoses, im wondering if its possible to convert the engine or would you have to buy one that came with it

Re: adding vtec
no, those dont add vtec, they make it possible for YOU to add VTCE yourself, im assuming your talking about thh auction that includes braided oil lines, a plug, a T, some fittings, etc. maybe the one you see has a head gasket as well. you stil have to get the VTEC ecu for your car, you need a vtec head and vtec solonoid and all that crap, and then you plug the stock oil passage, and the lines reroute it from your oil pressure sender location up the the back of the head. at least on the DOHC vtec franks thats how it is done, who knows, on the SOHC engines maybe the vtec and non vtec blocks/heads oil passages line up, but I doubt it. and in case your not sure the sohc/DOHC is Single/Dual OverHead Camshafts
