Smile Sequoia 2004

I have a used 2004 Toyota Sequoia SR5. How do I program the new keyless remotes I bought (the person I bought the car from did not have them). I bought new ones on ebay and I need to know how to program these so they will work. -- Thank you for the help. -- I really do not want to pay a dealer $50 each to program these.

Cool Not sure if it's the same on an 04.

The instructions I have for a 2003 Sequoia really do look very confusing. Is that the only way additional remotes can be programmed?

Anyway, here's my summary of the steps:

1. Open the Driver’s door. Other doors should be closed.
2. Insert the key into the ignition, and then take it out.

Note: Step 3 to Step 6 should be completed within 40 seconds.

3. Use the door lock button to press Lock and Unlock at 1-second intervals for a total 5 times. Example: (Lock – 1 second – Unlock – 1 second) x 5.
4. Close the DRIVER’S door, then open the DRIVER’S DOOR.
5. Repeat Step 3.
6. Insert the key into the ignition.

Note: Step 7 and Step 8 should be completed within 40 seconds.

7. Turn the ignition switch from ON to LOCK (1-second interval) once to enter the ADD mode.
8. Take the key out of the ignition.
9. The doors will lock-unlock automatically once to confirm that Add mode has been selected.

Note: Steps 10 to 12 must be completed within 40 seconds and Step 11 must be completed within 3 seconds of Step 10.

10. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously within 1.5 seconds.
11. Press again any button on the transmitter for more than 1 second.
12. The doors will LOCK-UNLOCK automatically once to confirm success. The doors will LOCK-UNLOCK twice if it was not successful (for example, the codes received in Step 10 and 11 did not match). If it was not successful, you must start over from Step 1.
13. Repeat (within 40 seconds) Steps 10 to 12 for each additional transmitter.

14. The Programming mode will exit after:
- The driver’s door is closed, or
- The key is removed from the ignition, or
- 40 seconds have passed since confirmation (Step 12), or
- 4 transmitters are registered at one time.

If you send me your e-mail, I'll e-mail the programming book. It should work. E-mail me at [email protected]
