smoked a preppy strap in his jetta

pulled up to a red light the other day...some clown in a jetta 2k4 jetta 1.8T 5sp has a pink polo wiht his collar popped...tryin to blast his monsoon system. im thinkn to myself, NAH. so i pump up the BOSE to max volume...the tune of choice? 'i came to bring the pain' - Lil Flip. my noise immediately dwarfs his, and he gives me this look like 'whatevs brahh'. i point forward....he starts revving...i stay in drive, but am power breaking...up until about 3000rpms...(yeah i know). light turns green, he gets off the line a tad quicker, but i quickly pull ahead and smoke him...laaatter brahh.

one of my best maxima moments ever...also...i wouldnt be caught DEAD driving a jetta....unless i was a woman.

Hate the driver not the vehicle. I'm one 95 VR6 Jetta owner that understands and respects the Max's power. However not all VW drivers are uptight douche bags some of us god forebid are open minded.
However yes it seems a lot of VW drivers I've come in contact with seem to have this huge chip on their shoulders. Good race man.

Re: smoked a preppy strap in his jetta

word, good race man. Gotta admit tho, I had a problem with a 2k4 VW. he got off too quick and the race wasn't long distance (or I didn't feel like speeding on a suspended license) so I didn't get to show off my HP. U have any mods? MY boy in a 95 kept up w/my 2000 but he had a CAF vs. my stock. So guess what I'm gonna get after my Ypipe?

Ummm what's a CAF? Is that like a cold air intake? Nitrous? I've no clue.

Re: smoked a preppy strap in his jetta

Ah ok. The 00 still had the VQ30 right? What can you do to those besides basic Y pipe CAI and exhaust stuff? Ever thought of using a bigger MAF from the 3.5 VQ35 in combination with a ported throttle body or a t body from the 3.5.
Anyone hear about the new specs for the G35 I think the 2dr and 4dr are going to have 287hp or they are going to be bumped up to 300hp.

I hear that the Japanese Intake Manifold for the Maxima has more hp up top and less tq downlow. You guys might want to invest in this. It's now like the Max is suffering from lack of tq so taking some away low to put it up top wouldn't be a bad idea.
And would you believe this info came from a guy who's mostly a VW fan. LOL later.

the 3.5 MAFS is a flawed design. lots of us are actually switching to the 3.0's.
also, the 2000 maxima already comes equipped with a variable intake manifold here. the 95-99's don't, so that's also a popular new mod to do.

Re: smoked a preppy strap in his jetta

Is Nissan/Reneault addressing this issue with the 3.5's MAF at all. It would suck to think that after all the work that was put into the new engine that it would be held back by something like a MAF. Oh well. Good Luck.
