Cizeta Moroder (Moroda) V16T a lambo?

Is this car a Lambo?

http://037overkill.virtualave.net/ch.../pictorial.htm :

"Claudio Zampoli's Cizeta Moroder (Moroda) V16T. With two syncronized DOHC V-8's under the rear lid, it packs quite a punch."

The closest imitation I've seen! The only reason I don't like the Vector is because they look like ugly Lamborghinis. (EDIT: My opinion has since changed... I like the look of Vectors.)

Just to set the record straight:
The Cizeta-Maroder came first. It was built by two guys, someone Cizeta, and Georgio Maroder in the early 1980's. They made 9 of these V-16t's. They sold the blueprints to lamborghini, who modified them to produce the Daiblo that we all know and love. The car is pretty cool looking, and by the way, the Vectors are the tightest looking cars.

Umm .. where can i get info and pics on this vector? never seen it before..

NM, i found it at fast autos in a feature thing they have.. looks cool, out going, but very dated.. one of those styles that date fast.

Marcello Gandini also designed (at least) all these Lamborghinis: Miura, the Marzal, the Espada, the Jarama, the Urraco, the Countach and the Diablo.

The Murc is the lease efficient vehicle out there. 9/13 for city/highway. I don't think they'll make a v16 just for this reason!

Just to set the record straight, the Cizeta was designed about the same time as the Diablo around 1990, not "the early 1980's"

Re: Cizeta Moroder (Moroda) V16T a lambo?

As spare_me_a_murci already posted/stated, this car design was suppose to be the Diablo's design. The Diablo was a slightly modified version of this car. Here's the quotes:

Quote:
The design of the Moroder has been presented by Marcello Gandini as the new Lamborghini Diablo prototype, but Chrysler thought this design to be too radical and had their design studio in the States cut the rough edges of the design, so the Diablo looks a little less brutal than this Cizeta.
http://www.lambocars.com/framed/related/cizeta.htm

Quote:
Claudio Zampolli started Cizeta in the mid-eighties and had his first prototype ready in 1988. He employed Marcello Gandini, who is famous for his work with Lamborghini which included both design of the Countach & Miura. Gandini decided to use a previous Lamborghini design for the Cizeta supercar after a mix-up with the Lamborghini design department. Upon recieving Gandini's design for a Countach replacement, Lamborghini took the work and altered it heavily, including the removal of the famous notched rear-wheel arches. Frustrated with Lamborghini, Gandini sold the design to Cizeta who offered to stay with the orginal design theme.
