Re: turbo KiT

mani, a nice snail, down pipe, bov, possible fuel system, intercooler, really depends on how big you plan on going the more you want the more mods you need. if that makes sense to ya....i understand but im not good with explanations.

Re: turbo KiT

turbo
manifold
oil lines
downpipe
turbo plumbing
wastegate
bov
misc hoses and fittings
this will work if you plan to stay under 5 psi.
over and you will need
Intercooler (preferablly a FMIC)
injectors
S-AFC
boost controller (unless you just use a spring set for what boost you are running)
Maybe some kind of timing control.

Re: turbo KiT

The oil lines can be purchased through www.import-autoperformance.com and the plumbing can be customized pretty easy.

You shouldn't be trying to make your own turbo kit if you don't know the basics of what you need.

Re: turbo KiT

oh about that 20k..my sister's brother-in-law claims that he found one, says the car was still in tact with the gauge. ..but i doubt that..he sounded kind of incompetent or something. i juss wanted to know wat a reasonable price would be for it.

I somewhat agree. But its your deal, go for it. And as for IC piping, get the good stuff, or the insides will rust and crap. Thats not fun.

You should also check to see if the car has been driven around or has been sitting in the garage for a year without being properly put away.

I would recommend reading either Maximum Boost by Corky Bell or Turbochargers by Hugh Macinnes. You should spend some time on the Nico, 240sxforums and freshalloy. Do some research online and pretty soon you will understand a lot more. I wouldn't spend more than 500 on a KA. Miles don't matter that much, its more about the condition(compression, oil color and amount, how the engine runs).

Hugh Macinnes = Teh Lose... he lost me when he said the corvair was a good platform for turbocharging. cough*old ass*cough

why dont you just look at the parts list for a premade kit (ie Trust, Fmax, ect.) and start there

minus Wastegate (internal already on the Turbine) and BOV (unless your doing this to be a balla) Nissanfanatics list is right

Yea he does talk about some wierd shit, but very good explanation of how to size turbos.

External is a lot better. You get less boost spikes on an external. And internal wastegates usually cost more. Save the money you would spend on that and get a good wastegate. BOV is not completely necessary, but it will be a lot easier on the turbo. Its basically necessary.
