Eclipse vs S-10

Hey i got a good friend who owns a 1997 Eclipse GSX (AWD) 245 HP.
He was challenged by a guy who owns a chevy s-10 pickup, this pickup has been modded, its got a V6, its a 4x4. The pickup also has a supercharger in it, who would win a quarter mile drag? There is some serious money at risk and i was wondering if it would be a fair race?

Im not sure how much horse power the s-10 makes, but the stock V6 engine makes about 180 and the s-10 has a bunch of mods on it.

There are WAY too many factors involved in a race to base anything on HP estimates.

im going to say, the chev will break before it ever gets into 2nd, and your friend will win by default. now if it was a ford, that would be a diffrent story..

So he's got a supercharged V6... how are we supposed to know how much power that makes?

Either of them could win by a huge margin, depending on if your friend knows what he is talking about.. does he have a dyno at 245hp? Or does he just estimate that? Is the other guy a tool, and has a 150hp 6cyl with a supercharger totaling it to 180whp? I'm guessing so, since has a V6... anyone who is anyone has a V8, right?

Point is, you gave us too little information, JUST RACE HIM if it's important.

them s-10's be whoopin some ass sometimes. i see this one drivin around practiccaly launchin at every stop. that guy is crazy. but yea u cant tell whos gonna win unless u give more info and even if u do give more info its still kind of hard to figure it out. SO JUSS GO RACE!

Even if the truck is supercharged, the GSX is gonna be lighter. But hey... It sounds like a good race to watch. I'd watch.

well the race did happen, and the s-10 won. the guy had a bunch of performance mods including a superchrager and nitrous. It was crazy. The s-10 is heavier, but i guess it just makes enough power to throw that weight around. The stock V6 on the s-10 makes 190hp and with all the mods, well who the hell knows. And the GSX is dynoed at 245.

I dont like these threads either, but the reason i asked was because there was $5000 on the line.........oh well, not my money!

He must be a rich man, There is no way i would bet that much. Even if i knew i would win by a mile. What if you accidently miss a gear or you break down? Ahh man, Well at least the eclipse still looks better. When some one like that says they can beat me i say yeah but yours is still ugly.
