4-wheel drive light has no power

I have a 2002 TrailBlazer - I have recently noticed that my light indicator on the 4-wheel drive knob is not lighting up - it is also not shifting into 4-wheel drive from 2-wheel drive. I had the knob replaced, but that did not work. I am getting no power to the knob at all. They looked at the fuse box under the hood and found nothing blown. I have heard something about another fuse being somewhere in the dash - anyone have any ideas??? THANKS!!

Re: 4-wheel drive light has no power

Most likely your Transfer Case Control Module, it either needs to be reprogrammed with the latest software update or replaced and programmed with the newest software. GM dealer can reprogram it.

Couldn't tell you a price, but mine was just fixed under warranty.

All mine needed was to be reprogrammed. Other people I know needed a new switch becasue of a faulty ground wire.

There is a Technical Service Bulletin 02-04-21-006A that talks about the lights being inoperative in the 4wd switch. Ask your dealer.
