2 Problems with 96 Park Ave

My first problem I have is when I start the car. As soon as I start the car, it dies.If I start and quikly throw it into a gear or push on the gas it will run and stay running smoothly. The car only has 68k (sixty eight thousand) miles. What could it be?
Secondly, I am having a problem with my HVAC. One is intermittant and the other is continuous. The intermittant problem is that it won't blow air out of the vents, just windshield and floor. Next, there is no control over the passenger temp. It seems to just blow in outside air. There is perhaps some heat added to it because I smell it. Unlike others, the temp light on my dual zone control doesn't blink. It does kinda fade in though. Initially dim the brightens. I do have a high end audio system in the car, could that affect it? Thanks for any help.

p.s. where can you get a shop manual for this car?

Re: 2 Problems with 96 Park Ave

You could have a loose/broken vacume line from the engine to the vacume 'T' on the center of the firewall which would cause both these problems.
