motor & tranny swap?

I have a '96 Grand Cherokee that needs a new transmission, or this one rebuilt. I have found a wrecked '93 model that I can buy cheap, and I'm wondering if the '93 will interchange with the '96. If someone could be of some help it would be greatly appreciated. Both the '93 and the '96 have a straight six engine.

One thing to keep in mind is that there is a computer connected to the transmission of the 96. that computer may work with other modules to run the vehicle. Not sure how it would work without one because I don't think the 93 uses a computer.


Other than the hookup for the transfercase and total length check for drive shaft installation, it should bolt right up if the computer thing is compatible.
