check out the first 4 threads (subtract the 350z video) almost everything you've ever wanted to know about just silvias and 240sx in general is already covered, so go ahead and go over there

Re: wanna buy a 240

Best cars in my opinion, very light, after market parts are strong, rear wheel drive, tons of engine options, and best yet, tons of upgrades available from other cars like the 300ZX and skylines. Most don't need modification to fit, or fit with minimal mods, so you can get tons of upgrades from the salvage yard, e.g 4pot calipers off a 300ZX, LSD from 300ZX, infinity J30, Q45, or SE 240. I think it is the best ever for performance and drifting. Just my opinion.

Re: wanna buy a 240

Ok, if you beg to differ state your point.........
240SX : 2700lbs, that is good enough for me, even the eclipse spider was heavier. Unless you want a Toyota Mr2, which I never really liked that much, but I am assuming that they maybe lighter than the 240. How many RWD cars out there are lighter than the 240?????????????????????
III Gen Rx7 was light and very nice but the price of these cars is off the chart, so for most of us, rule them out.
If you disagree state your facts.

S30 Chassis... aka 240z...

2200-2300lbs depending on year.

Re: wanna buy a 240

Sure in your post you stated "very light", you didnt say "very light for a rwd vehicle" simply very light, as a car that shit aint light bud, simple enough?

comparing the s30 to the s14 is (pardon my initial D lingo) like comparing chocolate to shit.

i can think of a whole lot of cars lighter than the 240, but they suck. geo metro? pontiac fiero? ford colt? the list goes on....

I agree, the point isn't if the 240SX is lighter then shit boxes, the point is if a 240SX is light, and it is.

hey, i just took another look at the car, it looks as if their is a crack on the left strut support ( where you would put a strut bar ) anyways it has a crack on it and it is starting to rust.... i asked if it was in a accident and they swear up and down that it has never been in an accident. i also noticed a nice rust patch coming in on the trunk lid. are these cars bad for rust???

anyways i thing it is going to stay on the lot. they seem very scabby. they claim that the custom dvd setup in the car was "stolen" but the theives left the wiring harness and not a cratch on the dash??? go figure, a nice neat theif that leaves behind the most important peice to the dvd player. and the car is actually going for $9 g's not the price what i said before. they said they would drop the price to that if i trade my completely done up 97 eclipse gst. i looked and laughed and said yeah right....

anyways i am going to leave that car alone!

any of you guys ( in canada ) have a 240 for sale for around the $5 g mark???

Re: wanna buy a 240

I think Logikal and logik just made my point, they are light cars, those are old cars you are talking about. I am not realy into older generation cars except for 60s muscle cars. I do respect the Z don't get me wrong. I think if it wasn't for cars like the datsun, Z-cars, and supras, ford and chevy would be putting a whole lot worse crap than some of the cars they put out recently. The imports realy forced them to upgrade. 240sx, Best car for the buck when coming down to performance, nough said.
