Re: 96 grandam wont turnover, got lights and radio

well.. mines been starting fine for a few days now.. I'll still clean up all the connections to the starter since I'm sure I saw some "green" on it.. and if ever it does it again.. "not turn/start" I'll change the starter right away! Can't do no harm

Thumbs up Problem solved with start problem

OK, here is the deal, i fixed the problem with the no start issue. what happened is the copper strip that holds the springs down in the key barrel had worked its way loose. when i turned the key the copper strip would stop the key from going all the way to start. When i turned the key it would stop just shy of starting the car, (would even spring back like good contact was being made). I disassembled the key cylnder and used a punch in each corner of the strip (on the aluminum side) so the area around the strip will hold the strip down where it is supposed to be. once i did this the car would start just fine. (what a problem). What threw me of was the fact that the key seemed to be going all the way to the start position. Now the car runs fine again. Thanks to all for your inputs.
