help w/ a convertible top for my 325 IC
can someone help as i need a new top 4 my '92 conv.??? how does 1 know if a new top is needed? what are the cheapest,decent tops and where can one purchase them?? how much is reasonable 4 a new top and installation?? i got a quote 4 $1,100 out-the-door 4 an aftermarket??? any suggestions??? ps my rear window is in bad need of replacement as it has a 16" x 3" crack in it?? many thanks.

i got the same headache. a split in the rear window, and i want to convert my top to manual from automaic. short story, its $$$ to get new top, >$800 from all my research. even replacing the rear window requires a whole new top sewn on. its really dumb. i know BMW dealerships sell a kit to convert he ttop to manual or ~$200. but that wont help your window crack

my top is auto, but i operate it manually and always have. i think there is a selector in the trunk to chose manual or auto. i haven't a clue what mine is on!!!! ooooppps. these are fun cars to drive and i have had 3 others, however, they are expensive to maintain and don't hold a candle to the Jap cars in the electronics dept. best of luck. |

if you have an E36 the window is zippered in, the E30 cant be changed without sewing it in i think.
