Re: 30 Ft railroad jump

now im not gunna get on ur case cuz ive been known to pull some crazy stuff too like passing people in parking lanes just before rear ending a parked car... But a kid from my school died jumping tracks, and serioulsy injured 3 passengers. flew over the tracks a lil sideways and when he landed it swerved off the road flipped twice and hit a tree...doesnt sound like much fun to me.

Only big difference is and this is a big difference...He was going 110 when he hit the tracks

Re: 30 Ft railroad jump

1.5s ...at 70mph....30ft. NO WAY!!!! unless you had a very steep projection angle. if were in the air for 1.5sec at that speed you would have traveled almost 100 Feet depending on the angle. if you didnt go airbourne you would have traveled 154 feet. so something aint to real there. you probaly felt like you were in the air for that long and that high. but in actuality you probably just bearly got the wheels of the ground for a fraction of a sec but it felt that way because of inertia and the suspention probly just stretched out and then bottomed out enough to touch the bumper. seems like you girl got you real angry that you were even delusional

Re: 30 Ft railroad jump

you would be surprised sometiems when you jump a car/truck. sometimes they dont nose dive and tear the front end up with a long jump, it just depends on what kind of an incline you are dealing with. there is a set of railroad tracks near my house that just happens to have a beautiful approach. back when i used to have a truck i jumped it at like 40 mph and came completely off the ground then smoothly landed all 4 wheels at nearly the same time. then on the other hand at a different railroad crossing in my town i watched an astro van land a jump and tear the front suspension apart resulting in both front tires being lodged in the backs of the wheel wells... you never know

**I have never and will never jump my civic**

Re: 30 Ft railroad jump

I don't know some of you people are smoking, but when you're moving 30ft isn't a whole lot of distance. Here in my town (maybe upstate NY) in the DMV book it says you have to signal a turn 100ft before you take it, 100ft isn't sh*t even if you're only going 30mph; it comes up quick. I used to hit a 1ft bump on a road near my house at 40mph every day coming back from school in my POS Oldsmobile and land 9-10ft away after being in the air (that's probably why my rear struts broke thru the frame). So going 70mph and hitting a 1 meter jump is very plausible.
