I'm trying to understand how the war in Afghanistan was a waste. Didn't a lot of terrorist get weeded out of the caves they were hiding in? We didn't get the "big dog" but he is slowly becoming irrelivant it seems. It would be nice to get him if only for the reasons to put him in a hole someplace till he can go to trial.

Hey DGB454, have you read up on the news since the end of the war in Afghanistan?
EDIT: Sure you got rid of some terrorists and civillians for the hunt of Osama. But he's still at large, which was the reason for the war, so war on Afghanistan=waste

Wrong.

You are misrepresenting the condition of the war in order to support your conclusion that it was a waste. Is getting Osama part of that plan. Yes it is. Has the search been abandoned? No it hasn't.

At least the terrerist know that our government isnt afraid to send americans to there deaths to prove a point, maybe the best thing that will come out of this is that the terrerist will now see if they bring bombs to our doorstep will bring it back on them 3 fold right to thier homes and the homes of their familys.

Getting Osama back for what he did on 9/11 was the origin of the war. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasnt it the plane to go into Afghanistan, take out Osama and Al-Qaeda from the country in order to erradicate the terrorist occupation of the country?
Well, they did go and remove Osama from power after helping him get there in the first place. They also killed many terrorists with their futile attempt to fight back (even though there were many civilians that had to pay with death, mere collateral damage right?)
That's good stuff, I give them credit for that, but like I've said, Osama is still hiding somewhere, the terrorists threat in Afghanistan is not completely gone. Like I've said before, read up on the news dating after the war, and you might be surprised on how many terrorists cells are left, at one point, they took over 5 provinces under US control.
So to sum it up, they did good, but not what they planned on entirely, therefore waste of money (basically it's like spending money to get right back at where you are)

Your statement implies that Bush already knows where Osama is and will come up with an excuse to postpone the election and then pull out the surprise that they captured osama thereby making a bunch of voters feel like hes doing a good job and thereby guarantee him the votes. man if that isn't a conspiracy theory then I don't know what is. Then again i wouldn't past it by them to do something like that.

No matter how much we try to present our views from both sides, the fact remains, NYC and Washington were hit by planes killing hundreds that were hijacked by a bunch of terrorist from the Al-Qada organization that is masterminded and controled by Osama Bin Laden. Which still hasn't been captured and the concentration was directed to a regime that was claimed was an immediate threat to the US by having WMDs which have not surfaced and billions have been spent. Our troops are still being killed and the threat still remains of being attacked again.

Plus what I find so sickening is that we attack a country that can in no way defend itself (I guess increasing our chances of winning) while there are other countries out there that are a bigger threat like North korea. Why doesn't bush and company do something about them. Becasue they very well know that we would get our asses kicked by the Koreans and the Chinese with their combines 1 million armies and probably start a nuclear war.

The Us needs to start looking within and fix it internal problems before it wants to be the worlds policeman.

First up,I can't see where the implication is that it's directed at you,unless you are the assclown that sent the anonymous message.
