S-10 Blazer lost power after gas fill-up.
Hi Folks, Can anyone help. My S-10 Blazer was running fine. I filled up the gas to the full capacity, started the car and now it does not pick up speed. The check engine light comes on and off. It goes to 30 mile per hour or so but then starts to loose power and eventually comes down to 1 or 2 miles. I have burnt the gas off completely. Tried the injector cleaners and have had the car running in idol for hours. Different machanics tell me different things. I am told the spider injector needs to be replaced but that peice as I under stand it does not go out all of a sudden like that and it is only two years old. Does anyone know more about this problem. I have an appointment scheduled to have a computer dignostic run on the car by a Chevy dealer. Please HELP!!!!!!!

By the way its a 1994 Vortec V6 engine with automatic transmission. And I think its a CPI configuration. Thanks Folks.

Are you sure that you have burnt off all of the gas? We had the same syptoms in a 97 Dodge Dakota and it was bad gas.

I also have a 94 Vortec V6, if it was the spider injectors, you'd have a little less power, not too noticable, but you'd be going though an enormous amount of gas. At least that's what happened when my spider injector went bad.

For a possible solution, try Fuel System cleaner. and don't be cheap, get a high quality bottle of cleaner. expect to pay about $10-$12. Run that and see what happens. If the problem still persistes, then dig deeper.

The fuel filter probably got clogged. Especially since you noticed it with one particular tank of gas. and change gas stations.
