1.6 16v Zetec ford Escort
Hi There!!!!!
I have trouble sorting out my scort. It's very lazy and in neutral when I rev it up, its not going pass 5000rpm, its like its losing power. I've checked sparkplugs and bougi cords. Plz, can someone help me, cause Ford can't even help me!! -THX- (ne body maybe have an e-book on this ford escorts) |

check the timing belt has,nt slipped,then if o/k unplug the maf sensor(if fitted in airway)and see how it runs,if the maf is on the bulkhead pinch the hose going to it and see if revs improve.

Ok, if I unplug that sensor and rev it up, then there is alot of smoke coming from the exhaust, is that because of over fueling? It still doesn't go high than 5000rpm
Let me just add, I dont have much time for myself, so I did send my car away to be repaired because of a blown gasket (it was still running better than now). While the engin was open, I took the chance and replaced all 16 valves with new ones, also the piston rings and the timing belt. Last edited by BLaZeR_D; 07-12-2004 at 06:08 AM. |

oh, one more thing.........
When I rev it up to 5000rpm, it doesn't go pass, but if I rev it to 4800rpm and quikly release the throttle and step on it again, then it go pass 6000rpm Last edited by BLaZeR_D; 07-12-2004 at 06:09 AM. |
