Tech help AFM

question? if the AFM were not functioning properly would it affect the fuel injection? I ask because my 1985 corolla GTS runs but dies in a few seconds. i think it is only running on the cold start injector . also , i have found that if i completly cover the intake with my hand it runs for a little longer then dies. i have a good spark. any suggestions?

Re: Tech help AFM

the way you describe the problems sound like you have MAF sensor problem. If you have a good spark, good fuel pressure then if you cover by hand is on for a little bit, i would say MAF sensor or Idle control valve is bad but either one is not cheap.
