Supra is stronger in all those catergories...it will probably get out handled if it's a tight course...but a more open road course it will hang w/the WRX

The motor (2JZ-GTE) is stronger and so is the tranny...you can get TONS of HP out of it w/o even touching the internals...

I think you would still have a fight if you threw the sti into the mix, at higher speeds at least

Re: Toyota Supra (mk4) vs. Subaru Impreza WRX 2004/3

Yeah I believe the STI would be better match, The Supra is just too powerful for the WRX. The Supra is an awesome handling car, skidpad numbers are .95g and higher. Braking for the Supra Twin Turbo is under 120FT, while the WRX cannot stop in such a short distance. Overall the Supra is the better performance vehicle. As far as reliability, the Supra is a very reliable car, but let's not forget that Toyota stop selling Supras here in 1998, so even the newest ones are 6 years old, and that can affect reliability simply due to age. Yet the Supras have held up well. I think the STI would be a better match up, and I would say overall performance would in favor of the STI.

If supras were still being produced, they would probably be making north of 500hp by now

if u got any doubts about the strength of supra 2jz, go to www.T04R.com , big HP supras, crazy like 900hp on stock block... their manual gearboxes are strong too, but i've heard that the 6 speed is way stronger and is reliable even when u are making 500hp+ at the wheels... yeah

Re: Toyota Supra (mk4) vs. Subaru Impreza WRX 2004/3

How about the mk4(nonturbo) vs. the wrx. Because it seems that the mk4 TT kills the wrx. SO how about the non turbo mk4. And is it cheaper to fix the subaru wrx or supra?

WRX would decimate the Non turbo Supra...

I second that, although decimate is a strong word. The N/A Supra might be as quick or fast as the WRX, but it's handling and braking is not too far off. Still this is my opinion-
STI WRX is better than or equal to the Supra Twin Turbo
Supra Twin Turbo is better than the WRX
WRX is better than the Supra Non Turbo

Re: Toyota Supra (mk4) vs. Subaru Impreza WRX 2004/3

The WRX would do the 0-60 in 5.6 seconds while the Non-turbo Supra (220HP, weight 3500 lbs or so) does it probably in 7.1 seconds...which is right on par w/my 2+2 NA 300ZX

The handling and braking should be similar...I am not sure if they changed the suspension and brakes...seems kinda costly...I have the very similar brakes and suspension to the Twin Turbo 300ZX. I am just carrying the idea over
