Re: b series
um not really sure what you mean? Whats in common.
Um DOHC engines except for one if i remember correctly its a carbed sohc bseries. Not sure though. Most have vtec. 81mm bore. Not sure what else you want to know. You will need a mount kit to fit bseries engines in except for the b20a6(5) from preludes which that engine has nothing in common with all the other b series engines. |

Re: b series
b-series are bigger more potential too.
B-Series Pros DOHC + VTEC 81 mm bore=more Torque More power potential Stock can handle up to 400+ hp on most parts B-Series Cons MOunt kit required Wring trouble not as good as a d gas mileage Expensive D Series Pros Bolt in Most stock and newer d parts are interchangeable cheaper better gas milage lighter engine costs about what a bseries mount kit cost SOHC + Vtec (Only 3 dohc engine [zc,d16a1,d16a3] D-series Cons Not as powerful No more than 300hp on stock internals limited to power Thats |

Re: b series
the b-series engines mount up differently to the engine bay, thus you need the specialized b-series mounts for the engine mount connecting points on the block to meet the connecting points on the engine bay. stock b-series mounts will work on a 92+ civic i believe, but not on an 88-91.
b series are pretty decent engines, but for the money...i would rather turbo a d-series

Re: b series
if you know someone who works at a machine shop, you could go that route....but it would be a pain in the ass, and would vibrate horribly if not perfect, i say just buy the mounts f you insist on going b series
if you need a trans. i have a Si trans laying around i'd be willing to let go of for 75.00 no grinds 126,xxx miles
