Goodbye Civic

I know I never really posted a lot on this forum, but I did read it a lot.

This past weekend, I finally purchased a new car.

I just got a JDM D15B Vtec swap and replaced the clutch with an exedy stage one (both axles too) 3 months ago. But I couldn't stand driving a slow ass car. Even with I/H/...Muffler (it wasn't me) the car felt really slow.

I got a 2001 Acura 3.2 CL Type S. The power is uncomparable. It came fully loaded with navi. These cars are pulling low to mid 14s stock. Unfortunatelly, the 6 speed didn't come out until 2003, so I gotta live with the triptonic. Unlike my civic, comptech headers actually add up to 30hp to the wheels.

Thank everyone for all the great information.

The civic is still for sale if anyone is interested. I'm selling it for 2,900 because of the swap I just got done + plus the new clutch and axles. I have pics available, if anyone is interested email me @ [email protected]

Here I come Acura forum. 13s here I come!

The paint has quite a few chips (mostly the front bumper), and when I pulled the old carpet out and put the new one in, I didn't get most of the edges. There's some rust and there was a ricer wing on the trunk (where the holes are) which I immediately unscrewed when I bought it last year. As you can see, there are 2 power adding stickers (one on each side) I bought it for $7,200 and put about 75% highway miles on it. There's an erratic idle, I'm not sure what sensor it is, but the "check engine" light is NOT on. It usually stops when the car gets warm, but sometimes it doesn't. The stock ECU (P06) has been replaced with the P28 when the D15B vtec was put in. I'm not making any money off of this car if I sell it for $2,900, I'm just trying to pay off the loan balance which is $2,900. The longer I keep it, the longer I have to keep paying for it. The actual car has 110K miles on it.

Re: Goodbye Civic

Nice car man, for the street.. For a performance car I wouldn't want another front wheel drive though.

Thanx man. It's not really a performance car. I believe it's in the "luxury sports car" category. With minor upgrades (I/H/E) this car is in the 13s, without any loss to comfort, and with the SC, it's in the E46 M3 range. It's just really fun to drive. I love the vtec on this car, you can actually tell when it kicks in.

Yeah but try taking that M3 through some turns.. RWD owns FWD. In a straight line and around the streets it will be a really nice ride though, don't get me wrong.

Yeah, if I had the money, I might have taken the G35C over the Acura if I had the money. Still, the inside of the Acura looks and feels better and it's pretty quick. I just wanted a reliable, quick, comfortable, quiet car, pretty much the exact opposite of my civic.
