Total Car Rebuild

Just for the sake of it, I want to know how to rebuild a car. Not the parts or engine, but the entire vehicle from the bare frame.

I can't seem to find anything on how to rebild one unless it's for a specific vehicle or just showing off.

gotta be a little more specific, one way is to take the body all off the frame, sandblast and paint the frame, upgrade all the components and put it all back together, are you doing to a specific car or just getting an idea?

Re: Total Car Rebuild

Just getting a basic idea. I'm not specific on any car unless it's a sports type like a Mustang, Viper, or something like that.

This is just for a project I might do in the future if I can get the money and parts for it.

Is there anything that I have to keep in mind while rebuilding a car? Some rules just to go by a rebuild.

well it all depends on what you are rebuilding and what your purposes are. If you just want something that looks nice, dependable and a daily driver there are certain guidelines, more expensive would be if you wanted to build a street machine or some show car or something. Basically you need to take into account, for alot of the cost, body work/paint/bodyparts and stuff like that. New hardware is always a good idea, it just eases the "backtogether" process. You said engine aside so i ill assume you dont want to do much drivetrain work. But like Murphy says, "what can go wrong will" Let me know what kind of a project you were thinking of tackling and i could be more specific. I just did a rebuild of my chevy pickup truck, but i just wanted a daily driver that can lay it down if need be so its not a finished project.
