Manga to Anime progress.

I'm curious as to how the Manga and Anime compare in terms of series progression. I just got done with the first 5 episodes of Initial D the anime today and I went and got my copy of the manga (I have all 11, and am waiting for 12 to make its way to my po-dunk little town) and after [b]5[\b] episodes its only halfway through the second book. So I no have a specific question. Where does episode 26 equate to in the Manga, because I'll be damned 13 hours of anime to know nothing aside from whats in the manga.

Not sure of the volume.

But if you have the recent release by tokyopop then you are in the middle of the second season of the anime with the Emeporers.

Yeah I know where I am with the Manga. Iggy just saw the Turbo Levin, what episode would that correlate to?

Volume 01 - 07 (and first few chapters of volume 08) = 1st Stage
Volume 08 - 13 = 2nd Stage

The episode where Itsuki sees the Turbo Levin would be the first half of episode 09

Are you sure? I watched episode 9 and it stops before the end of the GT-R battle. Are you talking about episode 9 of the second stage? How many episodes are there in the 1st stage?

1st stage = 26 episodes
2nd stage =13 episodes
3rd stage= 1 movie
ova= 1 special about Impact blue girls
4th stage= 14 episodes-only 4 episodes have been aired so far in japan

you're like me and have the Tokyopop versions. They take forever to get anywhere, only 3 episodes per dvd. I've stopped buying them, they're taking too long to release them. i've got the first 5 dvd's they've released, and the next wont come out till august/sept, and its still only halfway through the first stage!

Ah yes yeah you're like me too then. I do have the 5 DVDs as well, the 6th DVD comes out this month actually (July). And i do got the mangas from up to volume 12 in Tokyopop.

But yeah, when i said episode 9, i did mean 2nd Stage episode 9. And 4th stage in the website doesn't go up to 12 episodes, it goes up to 14 episodes because they changed and updated how many episodes it's going to have.

Ok, well my friends and I have all of first stage, and none of second stage, and I just finished the third stage movie because I was bored, and 3rd stage actually made sense because it picks up almost right after #12, so it didn't confuse me. Guess I'll have to wait till we get 2nd stage to watch it.

big mistake in watching the movie before 2nd stage.In second stage he blows the motor an you see why.You really don't get a sense in the movie, just that he has improved with the new engine.

I have read the manga, and I know he blew the engine. So there wasn't anything in the movie I didn't understand. Though I was angry that the AE85 never made an appearence.

Are you talking about the Japanese Manga or the TokyoPop one? Because I believe that Itsuki first sees in the Turbo Levin in Volumes 10-11 in the Tokyo Pop ones. I know it's not Volume Nine...

The manga in the Tokyopop is the same as the original (with the exception of the translations). Volume 09 in the manga is the races against Seiji's Evo IV. Volume 11 is where Itsuki sees the Turbo Levin.

Volume 09? You mean episode 09, the first half of 2nd Stage is where he sees the Turbo Levin.
