Question 97 engine

Hey there Megz, it would help to know the size of that engine. in 1997 they offered a 3.1 liter v-6 in the LS model, and offered a 3.4 liter v-6 in the Z34 model. these are radically different and are not easily interchanged. the reason i am replying to your message is that i am currently finishing a re-build of a friends 1995 monte with the 3.1 engine.
so far it has cost about $750 in parts, and took about 30 hours to repair. i took my time to make sure it was done right. during the work i came across a spare motor, and now i have a spare 3.4 motor. it is likely that the existing motor in your monte can be repaired, but if not it is fairly easy to swap the old for a working used motor. where is that car located? i am in the cleveland ohio area. car repair is a hobby for me. maybe i can give you some advice. i would be interested in trying to help you with that Monte.

Smile Hope this helps.

Hey Megz.

I know everyone is going to suggest millions of options for your motor.

It don't matter cuz you are just in luck.

I got a 1999 Monte Carlo for parts sale. I am asking a $1900 for the whole thing. Motor has only 68K miles in it.. It is in perfect running condition. It seems that you have a perfect body for this so I am offering you a deal.. Name what you think and see if we can come to an agreement.

I have on the Orlando Calssifieds. The car was rolled over so the body has only some good parts but the Motor and tranny are in great condition.

Let me know ok..

Re: Motor for a 97 Monte Carlo needed...

I'm looking for a 3.4L DOHC for my 97 Z34. The original engine has 214,000 miles on it, runs good, but has that little oil leak.
