Some Adivce Please.

Well my problem is i need a new fender and maybe bumper. I was thinking if i should get carbon fiber fenders. Would this look chessey?! I have a 96 red civic cpe. Carbon fiber fenders rolled into my mind because if i was to get a fender from a junk yard..chances are it would not be red. and if it was blue or whatever color i would need to get it painted because that would look tacky as hell. But a carbon fiber fender wouldn't look AS tacky i guess because its suppose to be that color. Well getting two carbon fiber fender would cost 300 bucks. Finding a red fender would take a while but would be the cheapest alternative. and getting a differ color fender would just cost too much..about 100 for fender and like... 2-300 doller to paint it. PLUS i might need to get a another bumper.. so should i get a carbon fiber bumper too?!....should i just go all the way with the hood too?!?!? i don't know what i should do. I not a fan of body kits, with the exception of type -r conversion or si conversions. soo im not all about making my car looking like it could fly. im more of a simple sleeper look type of guy. if that helps anything out. opinions please.

Well if you're into the sleeper look the carbon fiber fenders are going to blow up your spot man. But honestly it's your opinion that matters not anyone elses; it's your car and you're the one who has to drive it. But if you're having trouble finding red ones, then I say go for it. But also I wouldn't spend all that $$$ to get a matching CF hood and bumper; it'd cost you way too much $ just to get it to match the CF fenders. Just my opinion.

If you're going to spend all that $$ on CF fenders, a CF bumper and a CF hood, then I'd consider buying a set of good conditioned fenders and a decent bumper from a junk yard. If you can't find red, no worries, have them painted. It may cost alot, but so will buying all those CF parts. In the end, it sounds like you are all about the simple sleeper look, so you may regert the purchse of all the CF parts later. I say buy good decent junk yard parts and have them painted to match. Even if you buy a red bumper and fenders, it would be smart to have them re-pianted and blended. Otherwise, you'll be able to see the slight difference in the shades of the red, etc.

I used to hate the idea of carbon fiber fenders. I thought it was a little overdoing it. Then my friend got some carbon fiber fenders on his eclipse, and I fell in love with them...(he has a cf hood too). here's some pics.

They look nice there, however, I have a feeling they'll flow and fit in alot better on a grey or black car than a red car...either way, it's his call I guess.

i like this idea.

The reason i didn't want to get orginal parts was because i was worried about the paint looking weird. My car is 8 years old. the paint doesn't have that super new look to it. It still really looks good, but its not new. Is there a way too make it really really match where you can't tell the difference?! ecko says blended?! Where can i get this done, and how..how much do you think it would cost?!..

Any respectable body shop should blend the paint anytime they paint any part of the car. It is a technique used to "blend" the old paint and new paint so you don't see the difference. Just make sure you go to a good respectable body shop, not all are eqaul.

Re: Some Adivce Please.

well i got a fender and a headlight (all original parts) from the junk yard for 80 bucks!!! Pretty good deal. Now all is needed is the side view mirror, and the paint..My grandfather did all the installations so i got pretty lucky. Anyone know how much it would be to get a hood painted and blended? If its cheaper to get a carbon fiber one.. i might just do that.

You'd really have to check around local repultable body shops for the price estimate.
