My twin turbo 351c build page

Hey guys, just want to let you know I've started a webpage(if you can call it that...) about my current build of my 351c for my '69 Mustang. I've just gotten started recently(I don't even have a good block yet...), but I work on it for a good 5 hours minimum every day, more on the weekends, so updates should be there every day. I'm hoping to finish the intake manifold by the end of this week. You can find the webpage here:
http://www.turboslut.net
Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think!

PS. TurboSlut was my band from years past, but since we're all in college now, the band is dead. I think the name suits my car quite well!

Re: My twin turbo 351c build page

well, I'd say I've already spent around $1200 on all the turbo stuff I've acquired, and I'm planning on another $2000 for all the rest of the stuff for the rebuild.
It should be ready a week or so into August.

Re: My twin turbo 351c build page

Yeah its in there, bottom of the 'plans' page.
I'll just copy paste it here:
The motor will be spun to 5500-6000rpm on the streets, 6500 at the track. Engine Analyzer predicts 674hp @ 6000rpm and 653lb/ft @ 4000rpm with 10psi and a 75% efficient intercooler(normal temp water and no alcohol injection), street trim mode. For the strip, with 15psi and a 100% efficient intercooler(ice water) and water injection, it predicts 808hp @ 6500rpm and 779lb/ft @ 4000rpm.
I'd be happy with 700 at the wheels in 'strip mode'.

Re: My twin turbo 351c build page

i think u should flare the guards out:

1:You can fit in larger wheels.

2:You get the muscle look that every1 goes for(ive seen it done looks really cool)

I couldnt help but notice that you wont be spinning it that fast, for a Cleveland anyway. RPM is hard on parts, but I'd shoot for 7500 personally(I assume you have a 2-bolt block?). Solid roller cam conversion would be cool too.

BTW, what power level does it take to split a Cleveland? 302s are around 500rwhp and 351Ws are ~600rwhp....

actaully it depends on which 302 block you have for how much power it takes to split it.. the 74 and under were able to take up to 650hp before they failed..

as for the engine dyno thing, are they accurate? it says my 289 will be puttin out 430hp... some people beleve it, other don't.. i'm not sure yet.

Re: My twin turbo 351c build page

I've seen people who've used engine analyzer and come within 5hp and tq of their actual readings. But never with a turbocharger, always n/a. Thats why I said I'd be happy with 700. I'd probably be happy with 600 too. I don't think I'm going to push it to its full potential (15psi) until I get a new tranny. I'm not too confident on what my c4 can handle. 700 is a lot of power. I'll probably be running motor plates in the front and back, so it'll be rather difficult to split the block up the middle. I've never seen a cleveland block split like that, only windsors, but I'm sure its happened. I know a guy who is putting 650hp N/A(spins it to 8000+) on a block that had less prep than mine, and similar internals(stock crank, rods, forged pistons, etc). A high revving N/A puts a whole lot more stress on the motor and internals than a blower will. That is exactly why I don't want to rev mine... its turbocharged, it doesn't need it. I mean, I can get 600 or 650hp to the wheels at 6000rpm.. thats more than enough power for a street car. No need to spin it to 7500 and get 800 or 900hp. I'd rather have some good low end then a strong mid-range and good high end than nothing, nothing, then balls to the wall high end. Its mainly a street car, so I'd like to keep it rather tame on the RPMs. And also, I don't have a 4bbl cleveland, 'only' a 2v. 4vs are the ones that are reknowned for loving high rpms, 2bbls have smaller ports. Which is why I chose them(I have a set of 4vs on the shelf); they'll give me good low end until the turbo kicks in, and then the 2v's good exhaust ports will come in handy. 4vs have great flowing intake ports and poor flowing exhaust. 2vs have good flowing intakes and good flowing exhausts. Much more balanced.
