99 Camry - How do you remove the Interior Door Latch

I need to replace the right passenger door lock actuator on a 99
Camry. I can get all the screws out but the actual door latch itself
seems to be held in some way not easily accessible. Does anyone have
a service manual or experience that describes how to do this. I have
looked on the web and in Chilton's to no avail.

I have seen some Camrys that have two clips that need to be pivoted on the top of the links and the links lifted out of the holes that the bent ends of the links fit into. These links are above the lock mechanism.

OK, how do I access these clips, from the gap between the window and the interior cover once I remove the screws? Is there a special tool I need?

No special tools. Just good manual dexterity.
