m3 vs evo vs 350z vs s2000 vs
so has anyone driven all these cars? how would you compare steering feel, and overall feel of the car? any other cars that can compare in its class? i heard the 350z transmission was a little shakey.
forgot about the honda s2000, so that should be in the comparison. |

M3, easily
But this is me were talking about, i'd take any BMW over almost all other cars (Big exception with 911s). The M3 is the better track car and road car in my opinion. 333 Bhp 3.2L beats the hell out of everything else you mentioned. BMW manual transmissions are generally considered superior to all others, although the Honda is close. If you compare an M3 with SMG II, the BMW transmission destroys all others (something like .2 to .4 second shifts). The M3 also has a much nicer interior. Theres a reason they call this car the Ultimate Driving Machine. - O yea, it also costs alot more then any other car you mentioned Other Cars to compare with M3 -Audi S4 -Mercedes C32 AMG |

Re: m3 vs evo vs 350z vs
Yeah, the M3 shouldn't be in this comparo, it's too costly and obviously superior.
The only one of these cars I've driven is the Evo, and I love it. The steering is VERY responsive, and the transmission is very easy to shift (although there is a problem with the 5th gear synchro, that Mitsubishi will fix for free). The Evo is most likely the best all-around car out of these, but if you are gonna make a drag racing monster, I'd say go with the 350Z. |

well the evo has beaten the m3 around the track, and so has the 350z. the s2000 was able to keep up with the m3, but the main comparison was for driving feel, i guess the m3 is arguably better in that area? you think the steering is really better than the evo? the s2000 has one of the smoothest transmission, and that it set the standard. steering on the s2000 was also said to be one of the best.

Re: m3 vs evo vs 350z vs
Never driven the M3, but it's supposed to have phenomenal steering, probably as good or better than the Evo. In my opinion, Honda makes the best manual transmissions in the world (them or BMW), and the S2000 is no slouch. I didn't mention the S2000 because although it is a good car, there's nothing that it can do performance-wise that the other three cars can't do better. Still, it might be to your liking, and it probably has the best transmission of them all.

the m3 should have won by a fair margin. if you look at it it posted the fastest lap time, and if there were no cars in front of it it would have posted clearly the consistent fastest lap times. in addition, the m3 had the wrong tires on for that race.

Re: m3 vs evo vs 350z vs
The guy is obviously heavily biased towards the M3...it's not hard to imagine an Evo keeping up with it on a road course, whether the video is biased or not. The reason the M3 outclasses the other three cars in this comparison is because not only does it have performance, it has a high level of luxury and refinement, something that a car like the Evo lacks. The Evo is also about 20 grand cheaper than an M3, while offering comparable performance.

Re: m3 vs evo vs 350z vs
All the above mentioned cars are great, but I have to give the edge to the M3 in overall build and comfort, basically the M3 gives you great performance but gives you a comfortable ride also. Just on performance, it's close between the EVO and M3, say what you want about the EVO- don't like the looks, think it has crappy reliability, and etc. The car still has awesome performance for it's price, the 2005 EVOs will even be better, with more power, and the base EVO will not only hang with a M3, but beat it. Also if we were talking the EVO MR which still costs like $15,000 less than a new M3, it would be in the EVOs favor even more. Still the M3 is the more attractive buy, even with it's far more expensive price tag. It's combination of styling, performance, build, and comfort is unmatched in this comparison.

Re: m3 vs evo vs 350z vs
3000ways that's basically what I said, and you're right. The M3 is a lot more luxurious and comfortable than the Evo, and it's also $15000 more. If all you want is performance, though, and you can sacrifice a smooth ride and leather seats in the name of $15K, the Evo makes a lot more sense.

anyways, this comparison is about what its like to drive the car, like how much feedback you got from the road, steering wheel, shifter, and pedal position, stuff like that. you can add in cars to compare in that category.

Re: m3 vs evo vs 350z vs
If the main priority is sheer driving experience and comfort, I'd go with the S2000. The 350Z is kind of a brute, and the Evo is seriously painful to drive after about half an hour. Also, if you don't mind buying domestic, check out the Mustang Mach 1. Rear-wheel-drive V8 power can become very addictive
![]() If I were buying a new sports car for around $30,000, these would be my top 5 picks: 1. Subaru Impreza WRX STi 2. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR 3. Ford Mustang Mach 1 4. Nissan 350Z Performance Style 5. Honda S2000 |
