Impala 2000 Brakes

Have had trouble with the brakes on the 2000 Impala ever since I got it. Am now at a point that I would like to change out the brake pads and see if I can get any better braking and longer lasting brakes than the standard Chevy pads.

Anyone have any suggestions on what kind to get?
