I noticed this ever since i got my t bird, its a 95 LX 4.6. When in park, i shift into reverse, and the second the car moves back, i get ONE little Tick noise, like a click. It then goes away after reversing. If i stop, and reverse again, the same tick noise. It only happens ONCE while reversing. Could this be the transmission(which i doubt). I do have ABS brakes, and they are new to me, so maybe the noise is normal. This is my first RWD car.
PS.. The noise comes from under the car in the front. |

Re: What is the Tick noise when Reversing..??
Are you getting on the gas as you reverse or letting it idle out?

Either way. If the car is at a stop, and i put in reverse(with foot on brake of coarse) the second the tires roll back, i get on TICK noise. If its in reverse, and i stop, then reverse again-the same TICK noise. Probably nothing..

Can't seem to think of anything off hand. It may be one of those things you just have to hear to diag.

it might be one of the universals on ur driveshaft but if that was the case i'd think you'd also hear it when you first put it into drive after backing up
