i have a 4.3L '00 Silverado. i've been hearing too many different stories about dual exhaust... (it makes ur gas mileage bad, sounds bad on a V6, it doesn't make ur mileage bad...) i want to know if dual exhaust (flowmaster 40 series) will sound bad on a 2000 Chevy Silverado V6 4.3L i want it louder, but not if it sounds like a fart can. someone please tell me from experience and not what you think.

I have just recently put the Flow Master exhaust onto my truck, which is the same thing as yours with the “Big” 4.3 in it. I love it. It out performs the stock muffler with out a doubt and sounds ten times better. The only difference is the I put a single exhaust with dhole pipes at 2 ½" coming striate out the back. It is really worth the money. I have yet to seen a decline in my gas mileage.

It coast me $450 for the hole thing and installed. The three inch pipe with run you about 60 bucks more. To me I really don’t think that it’s worth it because it wont do anything for performance only a slightly different sound that is deeper. It was a 40 series and well worth it. The best thing to do is go to flow masters web sight and find the nearest dealer to you.
