Wrecked the 92 Accord, got a 93 Accord
Hey God is GOOD!! So some nut makes a left turn in front of me when I'm 20 feet from the intersection and Whamo! No more 92 Accord (now a 92 Accordian), so I get a check from the guys insurance company and what do I find? A 93 Accord. I can live with that.
One question has come up (so far) though; in the 92 I had the little 'paddle' type lock mechinisms in on the door. They were power locks, but had the paddle thing next to the lever to opem. On the 93 I've got more standard lift / press down type locks but on this one I'm finding that the drivers door won't lock if it is open. I can't push it down, and the power lock won't lock it if the door is open. Now, I assume this is to prevent somone from locking the keys in, but as it turns out, the only way to lock the door is to get out, shut it, put the key in, and turn it locked. When I do I hear the power locks for the other doors fire and lock. I'm wondering if all this is adding up to indicate that this thing had some kind of remote entry from the factory? I don't know if it was an option, but it occurs to me that this would have been a huge pain if one did not have a remote entry button to lock it once out of the vehicle. Anybody have any info on this? I'm looking at putting my Viper 650 in it and I just want to make sure I'm not going to have a conflict with somethign already in there... Mick |

it wont conflict. see when the door is closed the doors locked, but when the door is opened and u try to lock everything, the drivers side wont...
its just a safety... who alarms their car with the door open? lets get this clear...it works when its closed right?

Yes, they do, so at this point there's not real functionality problem.
I guess the other part was just curiosity if that is in fact what this is indicating, that it DID have a remote entry system, or did they just make some like this? Thanks! Mick |

remote entry
Yes, the 93 accord came with an option for keyless remote entry. It also enables alarm system simultaneously.

This Is So You Don't Lock Your Keys In The Car.... My 92 Ex Has It. All You Have To Do Is Lift Up The Handle When You Lock It And Then Close The Door, If Sticking The Key In After Closing Is Too Much Trouble.

Lift the inside handle, it becomes second nature once you're used to it.

I thought all 4th Gen had this, I have a 92 Lx. Just lift the out side handle and push the lock down. Does anyone have an xtra front drivers' door laying around? Just wondering
