while working on my 1995 jetta vr6 (changing light bulbs, checking leak in trunk, checking non working rt. rr. power window) my alarm started to go off . I chould not shut it off in any way other than pulling the battery cable. when i replaced the battery cable the car chirpped at me and then rearmed it self. chould not shut it off reopen door withkey or not gose off agine.pull batt.cable. reinstall batt. cable. chirp. after doing this 5 time it stopped going off. but now the car won't start.checked wires in all doors. in 95 jetta at least mine and other that ihave heard of, there is a extra wire with a two prog plug that looks like it will fit (and infact dose fit into the rt rr tail lite ) told that if pluged in tends to cause alarm prob. I was advised to remove this wire from me tail lite and then all should be well. Well that didn't do any thing for me. Are there any other suggestion out there that i chould try.

upon further looking into the problem i discoverd that when the alarm module droped out of the fuse panel(the zip tie had cracked and broke and thus was laying loose behind the panel)in must have pulled out a plug form its socket. this plug was in the same wire harnes as the alarm module. it is kind of far up the harnes from the module. it plugs in way up high on the back side of the inst. panel right behind lets say the area behind the head light control. once i plug it back in the alarm went off i turned it off with the key, now everthing works fine.So make sure this plug is pluged in first if u think that your alarm module went bad on you. |
