Stalls at Idle in drive (95 SE V6)

When I drive my car (95 Grand Am SE V6), it stalls often when I stop at lights or what not. It pretty much only dies when I am at a complete stop and in gear... it does not die in neutral or park. The only thing that seems to help is revving it... which you cant always do . Any help at all would be awesome... thanks

Re: Stalls at Idle in drive (95 SE V6)

What is your RPM at while you are fully warmed up and in Park or Neutral? Miles? Original fuel pump?

Try disconnecting your tcc for the transmission, a known problem. If you are just sitting in drive, and its stalling, that something else. If you are coming up to a light and it stalls as the car is down shifting, its the tcc. (torque converter clutch). In idle check your rpm with your foot on the break in gear like was suggested.

Let me know what you find out.......
