Hey guys, sorry if it doesn't belong here but I wasn't sure where else to put it, and figured I would get a bit of help in here.
Anyway so my best friend just picked up an old boat for pretty cheap and he needs me to help get it going. It is a 40' 1967 Luhrs(sp?) and I believe it has two chrysler 383's ( pretty sure it doesn't have the 440's) It hasn't been in the water since 2002. It was completely winterized and set up for storage, and the guy said he had it running last summer. Right now it has oil in the upper cylinders for storage etc. I was just wondering what is the best way to get her running again. what would the best method for removing the oil be? I thought take out the spark plugs and turn the engine over and hope it squirts out the spark plug holes... this seems like a messy method though and I was afraid it may build to much pressure and break something (similar to hydrolocking). Also The plug wires have been removed and I was wondering what the firing order would be on these engines. Other than that I think I got it covered.right now its located 5 hours away from me and I will be driving down friday to take a look at it so I was hoping to come prepared. thanks in advance guys

Re: chrysler marine engines.
Take out the spark plug wires, squirt some wd-40 in, replace plugs & wires & fire her up.
