Help! drain plug

thinking about flush the coolant system b/c the coolant looks brown again.

Last time I did't drain the coolant in the engine, could someone tell me the exact location of the engine block drain plug on a 97 4-cyl. under the hood or underneath the car? which side? Many thanks ahead of time.

Re: Help! drain plug

It's on the side of the engine, right by the oil filter. Also be sure to get the drain plug on the radiator, accessible by removing the splash guard by the corner of the front bumper cover on the driver's side.

Kind of strange: no coolant flowed out of the engine block drain plug. What is going on?

Re: Help! drain plug

Did you drain the radiator first before removing the engine drain plug?

Yes, I drained the radiator at first, then removed the engine drain plug.

Re: Help! drain plug

Well in this case, more than likely, all of the residual fluid in the block was drained through the radiator. There is no need to worry, nothing's wrong with your car.
