91 camry with dome light problems

My camry's dome like wont work...matter of fact it nevre did. i got it used from auto auction. besides that everything just about works on the car and works great except the lights on the climate control unit and the light for the shifter near the knob in the center console. i tried replacing the dome bulb but still no justice...is there a fuse im over looking?..maybe a relay or could it be the dreaded electrial shortage.. please..please some one help me out on this one....im lost. i have no other complaints ou tof this car,....great car....my baby

Have you checked the pin switches in the door jamb?
Pull off the rubber cover, spray with WD-40, or disassemble and clean the contacts.

I dunno think thats the problem..but i will chek it out none the less. the only reason i said that is because i cant get it to work even if i manually switch it to the on position.

There should be a fuse in your fusebox in the passenger compartment that is for the dome light. Check and or replace this first, then move on to the electrical shortage.
