Re: cam work in the 300zx???

well if you plan to be doing alot of work on your tt then you better have another car for when your tt is in the shop or all pulled apart. now keep the n/a? i guess if you want or you could sell it, use some of the money for parts for your tt, and by another car thats less to insure, and better with gas mileage fore your daily driver. i think thats your best bet

Keep it as your daily driver. The multiple car discount will help alot with the insurance. Do not get any tickets, dur. After a few years on your policy the insurance won't go up much for the TT, that and make sure you are always on a policy, so there is no gaps in coverage (that saved me about 1000).

Don't do anywork on you NA, no matter how much you want to. Just save for the TT. No sense trying to make the NA fast if you're going to get a TT down the road anyway.

Or even better, sell the NA when you buy the TT and get something like a 240sx or whatever as a daily driver.

Re: cam work in the 300zx???

don't tell me a n/a can't be fast. an automatic and convertible n/a ran a 12.8 second 1/4 mile with a full weight engine. that is automatic and convertible!

I didn't say it couldn't be fast. Just that a TT is going to be faster. And in the long run, to get BIG power you would eventually have to turbo the NA anyway. If you want big power out of an NA you need more motor. Or a million dollars to engineer the **** out of it like Ferrari does.

Re: cam work in the 300zx???

I bought my headers off Ebay for $280

Hopefully I can get them on soon.

But for decking out a Non-Turbo... Not worth it.

Intake, exhaust and some electrical mods is about as far as I would go... Me an Broke As **** are in agreement there I guess.

Save the high money for a TT... Dont spend money because you have it.

Re: cam work in the 300zx???

I reached the same conclusion early on with my 86 2+2...save the money cuz you're probably not going to get a whole lot out of it. You can make it hang with other cars, but it'd be tough to make it actually FAST...
