air conditioning in a 93 Civic Si
i have a chance to pick up an a/c system pulled from another hatchback, its a factory unit. Its about $100. I am just wondering about the install. It comes with everything, compressor, condensor, fan etc. but what am i getting myself into if i do get it? is it hard to install? will it cost a crapload to install it? anyways, i need to know by today so i know if i should get it or not? do i have to remove all my dashboard to get it in? Thanks for any help...

Re: air conditioning in a 93 Civic Si
Its an ez swap.......Check to see if you have r12 or r134....And the 2 systems look the same until you check the line ends which are bigger on the r134. The whole dash does not have to come out. I have done this swap on my car. Can be done in about 2 hours if you are good with tools. So be sure you get everything.

Re: Re: air conditioning in a 93 Civic Si
the AC is coming out of a 92 civic hatch, and i have a 93 civic hatch. it should probably work right? how hard is it to install the condensor? also, would i need to do any work to it when i get it, such as refilling the tank? thanks again...im new to this a/c stuff, but i cant stand another summer of 90+ degree days in this car...

Re: air conditioning in a 93 Civic Si
You will need to have the system oiled and charged.
None of it is hard to install. |
